i asked a couple of them farther up the street by north station if they had ever seen beth sarim - and that they should look it up...for some interesting facts about their history.. .

i like watching all the chicago shows.
chicago med, chicago fire, and chicago pd,.
but this week they showed a jw couple that refused a procedure that was left to the concience of a jw.
They got it all wrong. Obviously they did not consult the correct sources.
JWs do not even speak the way that couple did. It made me a bit upset that they misrepresented JWs so incorrectly.

...right from a pro-jw site in response to a post about the relative seriousness of homosexuality.
all you can do is reason from the scriptures, which you appear to have done.
homosexuality is as serious as bestiality, or adultery and fornication.
Kaik,
A lot of horrid things happen in some people's private life; the thing with the LGBTQ gang is that they are sooooo 'in your face' and we all just better grin and bear it.
Yes, the behavior should be kept very private.

i found out this morning that my brother died last night, he was also an ex jw, 73 years old and died of heart disease and kidney failure.
it was not totally unexpected, as he had been in poor health, but it's a blow, especially as i just lost another brother two years ago.
there were six of us, now only four.
May good memories of your brother provide comfort. Sorry.💐

with last night's meeting it became official: here in the states is a must to keep up with 'jehovah's org' that one fully jumps on board with this tablet/iphone crap.. so, now, all of us that up to this point have refused to follow the wtbts in their electronic/wireless revolution will deal with the browbeating from the 'spiritual' ones.. already receiving lots of grief from hubby and rest of the family/close friends when seen at the meetings with paper publications.
damn it!!!
am i alone in this resistance???!!!.
As usual, I caved and used my smart phone in service already. And hubby showed a video to a guy who was very impressed by it.
Damn it, the WTBTS won again.

it's easy to think of exjws as being a single amorphous group but the more i think about it, the more i believe that there are two distinct sub-groups and wonder if you agree.. there are those who believe and those who don't.
i know that seems obvious but let's break it down a bit more.
there are those who don't and never believed and some who are looking for a religion to match their beliefs.. i used to think this split would be between born-ins and converts but of course it's possible for born-ins to be believers although i suspect that many, like with other faiths, do so simply because they have never experienced anything else or made a conscious choice.
Being a born-in, with JW relatives so hardcore into the inner workings of this Org, the indoctrination is so strong that it is part of my fiber like it or not; reason why I cannot approve of the LGBTQ community and other behavior radicals.
I guess this makes me a 'JW-lite', but JW nonetheless. At the time of ultimate allegiance, you will find me in the JW camp.

JWs will not buy into the 'worldly' reasoning that the LGBTQ community is correct.
Furthermore, in this regard, I'm on their side.
I do not hate them, would not physically hurt them, but will not approve of the behavior. It is abhorrent.

in an effort to reduce the number of posts, this year i will try to add links to this post.

i know i've started similar topics before but this time i'm serious.
my parents have been constantly pressuring me and after yesterday's watchtower study they asked me if i was going to be baptized this summer... and i said yes.
i probably should have thought about it more before making a final decision, but they're pretty much forcing me to do it anyway.
It is never too late.
Tell your parents that you will study this article privately and reflect on it before you make such a serious decision; this will keep them at bay.
DO NOT DO IT!!!

Obviously, neither you nor your parents got the point of the study. How about going over it again?
If you are on this site, you should NEVER get baptized.
